Ottawa, 20 November 2018—In his 2018 Fall Reports tabled today in Parliament, the Auditor General of Canada, Michael Ferguson, presents the results of 7 performance audits of government programs and activities completed by his Office since last spring. Copies of the previously released reports of the special examinations of the Canada Council for the Arts, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and the Canada Development Investment Corporation were included with the 2018 Fall Reports.
The latest audits cover the Canadian Armed Forces’ efforts to stop inappropriate sexual behavior in the military, National Defence’s ability to manage the risks related to its fighter force so that it can meet Canada’s international commitments until a replacement fleet is in place, physical security at Canada’s missions abroad, the conservation of national historic sites and heritage buildings, the supervision of offenders released in the community, the access to high-quality Internet services for Canadians in remote and rural areas and finally, an audit to determine whether the Canada Revenue Agency consistently applies tax rules to taxpayers in similar situations.
