Media Advisory—Tabling of the Report of the Auditor General of Canada on Support for High School Students and Adult Learners—Tuesday, 4 June 2019

Ottawa, 29 May 2019—The Office of the Auditor General of Canada will present its report to the Nunavut Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, 4 June 2019.

Tabling Day Schedule

Media Lock-up

From 1:00 pm (Eastern TimeET) – Iqaluit and Ottawa

Journalists in Iqaluit are invited to attend the media lock‑up to be held at the Nunavut Research Institute (959A Nunavut Drive). Embargoed copies of the report will be available. Journalists will be required to remain in the media lock‑up until the report has been tabled in the Legislative Assembly. Auditors will be available to answer journalists’ questions.

Embargoed copies of the report will also be made available to the media at the Office of the Auditor General of Canada (Office of the Auditor General of CanadaOAG) at 240 Sparks Street, in Ottawa. Journalists who wish to access an embargoed copy of the report are asked to contact Media Relations before 2 p.m. (ET), on Monday, 3 June, to make arrangements. Journalists will be required to remain in the OAG’s offices until the report has been tabled in the Legislative Assembly in Iqaluit.

Tabling of the Report

After 3:00 pm (ET)

The report will be provided to the Speaker of the Nunavut Legislative Assembly and made available on the Office of the Auditor General of Canada website.

News conference

4:00 pm to 4:30 pm (ET)

Audit Principal James McKenzie will hold a news conference in the conference room of the Nunavut Research Institute (959A Nunavut Drive). Mr. McKenzie will be available in Iqaluit for media interviews shortly after the news conference.
