Media Advisory—The Office of the Auditor General of Canada releases its report on Export Development Canada’s Environmental and Social Review Directive

Ottawa, 12 December 2019—The Office of the Auditor General of Canada has made public the results of its audit of Export Development Canada’s Environmental and Social Review Directive. This Directive requires the Corporation to consider possible adverse environmental effects before entering into project-related transactions. The audit focused on whether the Directive was suitably designed and whether it had been implemented as designed. The audit also reviewed Export Development Canada’sEDC’s responses to recommendations from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada’sOAG’s 2014 report.

The report was tabled in Parliament and is now available on the OAG’s website.
