Ottawa, 18 November 2024—On Monday, 2 December 2024, the Auditor General of Canada, Karen Hogan, will deliver her fall performance audit reports to the House of Commons. Tabling in Parliament is expected at approximately 11:00 am eastern timeET. Descriptions of the reports are provided below.

Included in this release:
Canada Emergency Business Account. This audit focused on whether Export Development Canada, Finance Canada, Global Affairs Canada, and the Canada Revenue Agency, according to their roles and responsibilities, managed the CEBA pandemic support program for small businesses with due regard for value for money.
Digital Validation of Identity to Access Services. This audit focused on whether the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, with the support of Shared Services Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, and in consultation with other departments, was effectively planning a national approach to digital identity that would provide Canadians with digital validation of their identity to seamlessly and securely access government and other services.
Industrial and Technological Benefits. This audit focused on whether Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada ensures the Industrial and Technological Benefits policy meets its objectives, as part of the defence procurement strategy, for contracts managed in partnership with the Department of National Defence and Public Services and Procurement Canada.
Programs to Assist Seniors. This audit focused on whether Employment and Social Development Canada effectively led the federal government in ensuring that programs were in place to address seniors’ needs, now and as the population continues to age. The audit also focused on whether Statistics Canada provided information to support Employment and Social Development Canada’s efforts to lead federal programming to address seniors’ needs.
Canada Summer Jobs. This audit focused on whether Employment and Social Development Canada provided wage subsidies to eligible employers that resulted in youth gaining work experience, including those facing barriers.
