Democracy and independence. We are an officer of Parliament that is independent of government. Our reports are based on evidence collected in accordance with our policies and professional auditing standards. We bring a non-partisan, objective, and fair approach to our work.

Community involvement
Here are a few examples of how OAG staff give back:
- We contribute to the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign (GCWCC), managed by United Way.
- We support more than 100 charities, such as the Canadian Imperial Bank of CommerceCIBC Run for the Cure, the Terry Fox Run, and the Iqaluit Food Bank.
- We participate in the Chartered Professional AccountantsCPA Martin Mentorship Program, which encourages Indigenous youth to complete high school, enroll in postsecondary education, and consider a variety of job opportunities with the support of mentors.
