Video—Income Tax Objections—Canada Revenue Agency
Video Transcript
We found that Revenue Canada just takes too long to give a taxpayer a decision when a taxpayer objects to the amount of tax that Revenue Canada has reassessed them. We found, for example, that even in the case of a medium-complexity file, a taxpayer can expect to wait more than 400 days to get an answer from Revenue Canada and that the United Kingdom did a study a few years ago that indicated that Canada takes four times as long to make a decision on taxpayers’ objections than the six other countries that were included in the same study.
